CLIVE JACOBSON is an international, multi-award-winning graphic designer, having served both institutional and retail accounts for over 25 years.

Based in New York City, Jacobson has won numerous international design awards, as Art Director for ID- Magazine of International Design, and later as a Madison Avenue Agency Executive Creative Director, with clients such as Escada, Target, Allstate and Philips. Jacobson is originally from South Africa, where he won the South African Society of Marketers Award for The SASOL Group Identity.

 

Clive Jacobson Design clients have included Citigroup Private Bank, The NFL (Super Bowls XVII and XXIX logos), UBS, UJA, Turner Construction, Odeon Capital, Olympia & York USA, Optionsellers.com, Stanton Public Relations, AXA Equitable and Electriq Solar.

Awards for excellence include: AIGA, American Institute of Graphic Arts; American Corporate Identity;

The Art Directors Club of New York; Art Direction Magazine; Communication Arts; Graphic DesignUSA; Logolounge 2017, Print Magazine; Graphis Best Logos; SPD-The Society of Publication Designers of America; and the 2000 International Annual Report Competition (ARC) Awards.

For over 12 yrs as an adjunct professor at NYU (New York University), Jacobson taught workshops on Design Principals, Conceptualization, Typography & Visual Semiotics.  Clive teaches New York high school seniors part-time on behalf of Creative Art Works. He does portrait and landscape oil painting-(www.clivejacobsonart.com) and his first co-illustrated book, Jacobsonjoy, was sold out at MOMA 2012. In 2020, Jacobson's paintings were exhibited by MvVO at the Oculus, World Trade Center, New York.

Clive Jacobson's new book on visual dichotomy " On the one hand..." was released in March 2021.
