CLIVE JACOBSON is an international, multi-award-winning graphic designer, illustrator and educator.

Based in New York City, Clive Jacobson has won numerous international design awards. As Art Director for ID- Magazine of International Design; as a Madison Avenue Agency Snr.VP - Executive Creative Director, with clients such as  - Escada, Target, Allstate and Philips and with Jacobson Design with BtoB and retail clients that have included -  Citigroup Private Bank, The NFL (Super Bowls XVII and XXIX logo designs), UBS, UJA, Turner Construction, Odeon Capital, Olympia & York USA, Optionsellers.com, Stanton Public Relations, AXA Equitable, Chandrika Tandon, Donnan and Electriq Power.

 

Jacobson is originally from South Africa, where in his early 20's, won the South African Society of Marketers Award for The SASOL Group Identity. His most recent award  for logo design was in August 2023 by Logolounge.


Awards for excellence include: AIGA, American Institute of Graphic Arts; American Corporate Identity;

The Art Directors Club of New York; Art Direction Magazine; Communication Arts; Graphic DesignUSA; Logolounge 2023, Print Magazine; Graphis Best Logos; SPD-The Society of Publication Designers of America; and the 2000 International Annual Report Competition (ARC) Awards.

For over 12 yrs as an adjunct professor at NYU (New York University), Jacobson taught workshops on Design Principals, Conceptualization, Typography & Visual Semiotics. Clive has taught New York high school seniors through Creative Art Works.

 

Jacobson does portrait and landscape oil painting - (www.clivejacobsonart.com) and his first co-illustrated book, Jacobsonjoy, was sold out at MOMA 2012. In 2020, Jacobson's paintings were exhibited by MvVO at the Oculus, World Trade Center, New York.

Clive Jacobson's new book on visual dichotomy " On the one hand..." was released in March 2021.
